Microchip dsPIC33CK512MPT608
The Microchip dsPIC33CK512MPT608 family features a 16-bit high-performance Digital Signal Controller (DSC) core based on a modified Harvard architecture. This architecture separates program memory and data memory, enabling the CPU to access instructions and data efficiently and simultaneously. The 16-bit architecture combines the computational efficiency of a microcontroller with dedicated digital signal processing capabilities, providing enhanced performance for control and signal-processing applications. The dsPIC33CK family further incorporates specialized DSP instructions, a hardware multiplier, and flexible peripheral integration, enabling fast and deterministic execution of complex control algorithms while maintaining efficient memory usage.

Device specific handling
Reset
The device is reset via MCLR pin.
Interface mode
The device can generally be programmed in ICSP mode; however, there is also a fast EICSP mode. In this mode, a loader is flashed into an area specifically reserved for this purpose. On a new device, this loader is not present and must be programmed once. This happens automatically. You can use the “Force writing the programming executive” option to have this loader reprogrammed. Both interface speeds can be set separately. EICSP mode is enabled by default.
Security
The device can be protected using the 'Config words' which must be present in the hex file .
Limitations
- This device family supports only 'Low voltage programming' (LVP).
Troubleshooting
Device ID does not match
At the start of the programming process, the Flasher attempts to connect to the device and read its device ID. Each PIC device has a unique ID.
If a device ID error occurs, there may be several possible causes.
To obtain detailed information on the error, increase the "VerboseOutput" level in the U-Flash configuration to at least "INFO" and transfer the project to the Flasher again.
Device ID = 0000 or 3FFF
- There is a fault in the wiring
- The device is kept in reset by an external reset generator or watchdog
- The supply voltage is insufficient
Device ID is wrong
- The wrong device was selected in U-Flash
- There is another device on the board assembled
- The supply voltage is too low and/or the ICSP speed is too high
